Meet your Pulmonologist

Dr. Tabassum Y Nafsi is a board-certified Pulmonary and Critical Care Physician with over 20 years of medical experience. Her compassion for others was instilled at a young age by her philanthropic parents, who taught her the importance of empathy and kindness. As a physician, Dr. Nafsi is committed to providing the highest level of care to her patients, treating them as she would her own family.
 
Dr. Nafsi has a unique understanding of the suffering experienced by patients and their families, having lost loved ones to cancer. This personal experience has deepened her commitment to providing compassionate care that prioritizes the patient’s well-being above all else.
 
As the founder and CEO of Rockford Pulmonary Clinic (RPC), Dr. Nafsi has created a practice that is dedicated to providing evidence-based medical care that is affordable and readily available to the community she calls home. She is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP), a member of the American Thoracic Society (ATS), American Medical Association (AMA), and European Respiratory Society (ERS).
 
Dr. Nafsi completed her medical education at Baqai Medical College in Pakistan before moving to the United States, where she completed her Internal Medicine residency at Pennsylvania Hospital of UPENN in Philadelphia, PA, and Pulmonary & Critical Care Fellowship at John H Stroger Hospital of Cook County (aka Cook County Hospital, Chicago, IL). During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Nafsi represented the Critical Care team at Swedish American Hospital, where she played a vital role in providing specialized care to patients in the community.
 
At RPC, Dr. Nafsi prioritizes building strong, direct, and personal connections with her patients, taking responsibility for their health and well-being. She is committed to providing the highest level of care to her patients and improving their quality of life.
